Korea Map (KTO): Console Warning Messages - Aviar - 19.10.2009

On the KTO (Korea) map, I'm getting a strange message in the console. To open the console, start the mission and once you are in the cockpit, press Shift+Tab (at the same time). You will see all kinds of information there.

Anyway, when I'm on the Korea map, I'm getting this message:

WARNING: Bad water if MapRID == 0

Plus, this message keeps updating every two seconds or so. What does it mean?

That means that the map needs a map_r.tga Wink

Can you elaborate?

The map is missing a file called Map_R.tga. The author of the Korea map should be able to supply you one. Prolly best to ask in the appropriate thread Smile

Interesting...

II will look into adding a Map_R witht he KTO Upgrade.

List such in the upgrade thread so it will get added to the list. aka, a reminder.

If that is true, then wouldn't everyone be getting this Warning message on the Korea map? I had another player check his game and he had no such message.

Also, I mentioned this to Dixiecapt in a PM way back in UI 1.1 and he had no clue what the warning message meant.

I get it, I get it on a number of new mod maps. No biggie. Game still runs fine for now.

I ran that map twice today in our Warwings Coop server, in both cases it caused people in game to lock up and have to reboot. So sorry that one got by me in testing but it looks like there needs to be a fix. I'll have to get with Monguse and do a little further testing to determine the cause.

Well, the map runs fine and looks ok to me. I have been running missions on it since UI 1.1. I even host online coop missions on it.

I was simply curious about this particular warning message, since I only see it on the Korea map. So, I decided to ask about it here. Before I posted this thread, I asked another player who has UI 1.2 to see if they were also getting the same warning message. They were not. This made me even more curious about it.

And to Neil Lowe...there is no reason for you to get defensive at all to my question...("If that is true, then wouldn't everyone be getting this Warning message on the Korea map?"). After all, it seems like a very logical question to ask after you stated that I was missing a particular map file.

Since I have not messed with any map files and basically have a fresh UI 1.2, it's logical to assume that everyone else with UI 1.2 would be missing this particular map file....and in that case also getting the same warning message. However, that does not seem to be the case.

So, to your..."I have no reason to give you wrong info...lol" reply, I'll just reply...."well, you're human, so maybe you might be....wrong?"

Hehe, defensive, that cracks me up Tongue

You start a thread about a problem you're having with a particular map, then have someone tell you (from experience, mindyou) what is causing the problem, and that it is an easy fix. Then in your next post you doubt the validity of that info, shows just plain rudeness and ignorance on your part. With this summary I'm sure I am not wrong...lol

Good luck in future with your "problems" as I'm sure from the kind of person you appear to be you'll have many.
