70% crash , help needed - Ion_Milu' - 25.10.2009

Ok, i'm sorry to adress the same issue the second time but i've been directed from SAS back here. Here is what I tried: I deleted everything in my Ubisoft folder, i used a clean IL2 4.08 version that had worked previous times. I upgraded that with AAA U.I. 1.1 I get the 70%crash. What do I need to do? :???: please,DO NOT REDIRECT ME BACK TO SAS.

Did your "clean" 4.08 have a MODS folder?

- Ion_Milu' - 26.10.2009

Yes, it had no mods, that's why i called it a clean 4.08 install.

I was confused by your terminology "...clean IL2 4.08 version that had worked previous times..."

A 70% CTD is caused by a conflict between your static.ini, stationary.ini, chiefs.ini, or technic.ini and the contents of your MODS folders. It's very unusual to get that CTD from a clean U.I. install, which is why I was skeptical that it was really clean. It can be very time consuming to go through all those .ini files line by line and find which one points to a object that is missing or incorrectly installed.

Did you get any CRC errors when installing?

Delete, entirely, the MODS folder and the Files folder, and reinstall the U.I.

ok, ty i will do that. The reason why i said it worked previously because i had UI1.1 since like 1 year ago and it worked perfectly, but when i wanted to upgrade to Ui1.2, i had a clean il2 4.08 installed, then UI 1.1 then UI 1.2. now i have the 70 % CTD.

how did you "clean" your mods folder?
A clean version of 408m should not have a MODS folder to start with. the fact that you say that you have an empty mods folder suggests that you cleaned it by deleting mods rather than reinstalling 408.

By god, why does something so easy have to be so hard?!? I said i put a clean install of 4.08. I did not say i put a clean install of 4.08M, i did not say i put a clean install of 4.08 with clean mods/files folders. I PUT A CLEAN INSTALL OF IL2 PATCHED TO 4.08 FROM THE UBI HOME SITE THEN I INSTALLED U.I. 1.1

This i took as your clean install had an empty mods folder. silly me for reading the posts correctly
Drop the attitude chap, people are trying to HELP you and the more info we get on a problem hastens the resolvability.

Rgr, but i was pissed off last night, sorry.

Ty to all of you that helped me solve this, especially users that posted after sakai. OK, i partially solved my problem. When i try to make a shortcut of the il2 u.i 1.1 o the desktop, somehow the game remembers me and crashes at 70% as usually, but when i run it from the cd, the game runs perfectly, even the u.i 1.1. I think one of my registry's are messed up. How could i solve this ?

- Ion_Milu' - 31.10.2009

Ok, just installed U.I 1.2, this time if i run it from a shortcut from its home folder, it CTD's at 60% , but if i run it from its cd, it works perfectly with u.i 1.2.
