new F-86 mod....speed problem - hawker445 - 26.10.2009
Alright i found the patch for the Mig exaust patch and it still has that lare smoke blob and im sure the F-86 was faster than teh mig but now the sabre is going as fast a as a prop plane! its barley topping 400k/m at level flight ON 100% power

Does it break apart at 400 km/h. If it does you can either (a) download and install Unified Installer 1.2 (I think) (b) or get the SAS buttons 2.4.
Hope it helps,

Hawker.. Describe the installation you are running.. are you using just UI 1.2 or have you added other buttons files and 3rd party mods? Also,, what altitude are you talking about? I can get the Sabre to around 1100 kph on the deck in game so something is not right with your installation.

1100kph? May i ask how? So far the best for me is about 900kph. I have been trimming it out also
I did a clean install 4.08m -1.1- 1.2 then installed the F-86 and Mig 15.
My sabres top speed! - Guest - 27.10.2009
Well I use Aircraft Installer 3.9(which isnt out yet)
and My sabre can top speeds of about 1340 km/h .
- VF101hawk - 27.10.2009
1105 km/h is my best sofare at sea level. fuel 100%
Are you sure you have PeterD last F86-A5??
- JG14_Jagr - 27.10.2009
It takes a long time to creep up to 1100. 1340 is a dive speed, not a level flight speed that is sustainable. Start in level flight and fly 95% using trim to keep the alt as level as possible and it will just creep up over time. Once you get up around 1000 use 100% until you top out. FOr me it was 1100 +/- a few kph depending on how level I keep it.
On a side note, is anyone running a dogfight server on Hyper Lobby using these 2 planes? I'm dying to mix it up with human pilots rather than the AI

You guys know the original F-86 Sabre only had a top speed of around 680 mph, right?? The Military channel show 'greatest planes" taught me that one.. plus the wide world of the web is spouting these numbers at me
Performance:
Maximum Speed: 685 mph.
Cruising Speed: 540 mph.
Range: 1,200 miles
Service Ceiling: 49,000 ft
So you cats flyin that fast have some kind of souped up carb or something, mine flys at around 600-670 on a good day. You guys using premium gas??
To the author of the Sabre and mig-15, many many many thanks, I can't stop making missions with these jets now!!

MILES per hour.. you are talking MILES per hour and we are taling KILOMETERS per hour. Its very important to be sure you are comparing apples to apples when discussing this. Its also important to remember the difference between INDICATED air speed and TRUE air speed.. not to mention how "MACH" is determined. I have seen lots of posts by confused people who are sure they have found problems but in reality the issue has been their lack of awareness of TAS/IAS, or MACH, or KPH/MPH/KTS etc. The speeds are pretty close to reality given the limitations of the FM variables from what I can see so far.

LOL I lived in Germany for 5 years, looks like I would have gotten use to that by now. Got back to the states and all my pea picking mind wants to use is MPH. By the by, I am quite aware of what TAS/IAS means, just to let the world know

No its just not as fast as it used to be and i did get the Ui1.2 but it didn't show up so i downloaded it from teh site and i think when i downloaded the patch for the Mig15 i think that screwd it up

The Mig and Sabre ARE NOT inluded in UI 1.2 They are available at PeterD's site. The FM support (buttons) for them IS part of UI 1.2 however.
I continue to be amazed at the people who have little or no knowledge of how the MODS work complaining about something not working in UI 1.2 while explaining how they have combined and extracted 3 different non compatible MODS packs and buttons files and combined them into their own provate "Frankenmod".
