New Avia skins: Hawker Fury and Fairey Fox - Metatron - 29.10.2009
The Avia apart from being a beautiful plane is also the only inline engined biplane in the game-so I used it to simulate various other aircraft.
Spanish Republican Hawker Fury:
A bunch of these were used at the early stages of the Spanish Civil War, one shooting off it's own propeller when the interrupter gear failed.
South African Air Force Hawker Fury:
The SAAF received some of these after the RAF retired them. They were used in the Western Desert and downed a couple of Italian bombers.
Belgian Fairey Fox:
I was surprised to find how many structural similarities the Avia and Fairey have. They had a similar widely used Hispano Suiza engine.
This particular example was shot down On May 11th, 1940 over Vissenaken by a Stuka. One aircraft of this type did gain a victory over an Me-109 but it was mainly an attractive target during the invasion of Belgium.
So lots of new outfits to get shot down in.
