Please help - Anyone! - matsher - 06.11.2009

I have downloaded new missions and map textures and a few other goodies...
The problem I am having is that I dont seem to have many of the new mod maps.

Can someone please tell me were I can find the new maps so I can use them in
the new quicks mission packs. I do not have v4.09. If they are in there can someone
please tell me where I can download v4.09 from.

I do not have a Mapmod folder in my mods folder - there are many references to that
folder and I am not sure where to / or how get it from the AAA Site.

Thanks

Download the Unified Installer 1.1 viewforum.php?f=58. If you want the official 1C games 4.09m patch DO NOT install Unified Installer 1.2. Download all 8 parts of UI 1.1 into a new folder then run part one when its done. I suggest that you don't install it directly into your IL2 game folder as doing so may cause the installer to stop at 99%. Install it into another new folder instead.

Copy and paste the contents of that folder into your IL2 game directory (Located at C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL2 Sturmovik by default) and overwrite everything. Test your game before proceeding to the next step (you should see "4.08m or 4.09b1m in the bottom left corner). Download the 4.09m patch (if you want to) http://mission4today.com/index.php?name ... ls&id=3764 and install it directly to your IL2 game folder.

After this, you will find that your game won't work. To make it work, download the mod activator 2.1 at SAS http://specialaircraftservice.com/main/ ... 010.0.html and their latest buttons http://specialaircraftservice.com/main/ ... ,97.0.html. When start the game again, you should see 4.09m in the bottom left corner.

Unified Installer will give you your MapMods folder and will start you off very well in the world of modding (on and offline). However, please note that SAS is an offline modding site. Its mods have not been tested online and some of its mods are considered illegal here. The 4.09m patch gives you several new planes and other goodies and is higly recommended by me. However, you need to convert to SAS (recommended if you are an offline player) to run it with all the mods there and here.

Hope it helps,

Alternatively, you could wait for UI 1.2.5 which comes out next week
That lets you run 3.09m modded

Thanks Guys for the feedback...

I gotta say that it all sounds a bit complicated...
I play a lot online and sometimes offlines if I am testing tactics, new planes etc.
So I am not too sure whether I should convert to 4.09 yet...
Maybe I'll wait a little longer for more of the community to chgange over first.

CAn one of you helpful gent splease tell me a little more about this new UI 1.2.5 and what
is 3.09m?

I am running the 9.2 sound pack thats the last time I "upgraded"

Thanks
