6DOF not working with TrackIR 5 - Frontera143 - 07.11.2009
I have d'loaded and installed U.1.1 and it seems to be working well aside from the version switcher (another post). I ran the bat file to load 4.09b1m 6dof and I see a message that says the version mods are on. BTW thats all I saw, I didn't see any scrolling script as we usually I see more in the DOS Window when a bat file runs but maybe it was so fast I couldn't see it.
I am running Win 7 x64 and IL2 runs great on it except I can't get 6DOF working. I have tried toggling all the seat positions, gun sight, FOV etc. I tried in both DirectX and Open GL-no joy. I had it working on my old POS Dell with the TrackIR 5 before I upgraded and I seem to remember having to add a line to the config.ini or something to get it working on that machine but I'm not sure. I've compared that ini with the new one and don't see anything obvious.
I know I'm forgetting something.
I have to say that when I had 6DOF working on the Dell it was AWESOME. So realistic you want to puke in a good turn fight. Man, I miss it!

mabey this will help...........for some reason I always have to run the 6dof mod installer everytime I use the switcher. you mabey experiancing the same thing and just dont know it. Try installing the 6dof mod located here at AAA even though the ui1.1 comes with it. If that works just remember to run the self install everytime you switch versions. BTW the config setting you were talking about is in the rts section of the config file

But I think by default it is on. it should be.........trackIRuse=1

The only differnce I see is Process Infinity Mask =1 not 15

OK Heres the deal. Win7 user rights is preventing both the version switcher and the 6DOF from loading. I logged on as administrator and it finally works!!!! :yay: . A whole Saturday screwing with this! I'm so HAPPPPY.
