I do have HL. My main problem is that I cant join a server at all. It always tells me that I have the wrong version :curse: :curse:
How do I get around that error? I really want to fly online, but with mods

To play online with mods, you need to know two things.
1. The version that the host (server) is using.
2. The version you (client) are using.
Once you know those two things, you (client) must follow one important rule:
***The client must have the same version as the host.***
This can be much more complicated than it sounds. Let me give you a typical example. Let's say both the host and the client have UI 1.2. However, the host has updated his Zuti Mod. Technically, he is still running UI 1.2. On the other hand, the client is using the default Zuti Mod that came with UI 1.2. In this case, this client WILL NOT be able to join this host.
There are some critical mods that must be exactly 'matched' by the host and the client. This does not only mean that the individual critical mod(s) versions must match. Let's look again at a similar example with a different twist.
If both the host and the client are running UI 1.2 with the default Zuti Mod but the host or the client has disabled that particular mod, the client WILL NOT be able to join.
It is vital that the host communicates exactly which 'version' they are running. When playing online, this does not always happen. Welcome to the wonderful world of modding.

Thanks mate!
I think. How do you know what version you running? Sorry for all this silly questions, but I'm still new to online gaming

When your game fires up it will say what version it is running in the bottom left corner
4.08 or 4.09 or 4.09b1 ,you are not using the UI so that makes it so you can not join any servers using the CRT=2 thing as that makes you incompatible as you would have different files than the server.
If you had the UI you would be able to use the added Switcher to switch from one version to the other.

If there is a ZUTI DSMod version mismatch, you should get a message when you try to connect that goes something like: "server uses different version of the game 4.09b1m+MDSv0.8"
That last part is telling you the ZUTI DSMod version that the server uses.

Aaaaahhhh, slowly things are starting to make sense
hock:

My version is 4.09b1, but dont have any swithers and that just might be the problem!!
I also dont have any of the UI's installed.....
Its actually a pity as I only have 2gig CAP a month and see UI2 is 4 Gig :???: :???:
Is there a way to get these swithers without UI?
Again thanks for all your friendly help and advice

There are still lots of servers running 4.09b1m, so you don't really need switcher, but some of the most popular, like Warbirds of Prey are running U.I. 1.2 (which is still 4.09b1m) but with CRT=2, which means you gotta have U.I. 1.2.
Try some other servers and see what you can get into.

Its to bad that some one could not burn him a disk of UI 1.1 .
Just an idea.

Hi.
Here are just some non-critical MOD's, that makes a CRT=2 on WoP servers (and why these aren't incorporated, I really don't know - they're really nice MOD's):
*Cockpit Fi-156 by Ranwers
*Cockpit Fw-189v1-1 by Ranwers
*Cockpit Hs-128 by Ranwers
*Cockpit Me-210 by Ranwers
*Cockpit PBN-1v3 by Ranwers
*Ecran Wide Josse CirX
*Ju52v2 by Ranwers
*Tempest sliding canopy by Ranwers
Just to name a few...
It would be great, if these were made U.I 1.2 compatible.

Thanks so much for replies. Now I know how bad it is to be complete noob at something
I think Ill go and see what mods I have and which I wil need!
BUT, Ill use this weekend, take my time, *inhale, exhale*, and see if I can get connected!
I desperatly want to fly online!! I had this sim since 2002 and was dreaming of online playing since then. When the new AImod was released it give me just a little indication(10%
) of what online flying might be!!
- Aviar - 13.11.2009
As much as people love mods, when it comes to online play, they are a real headache. To tell you the truth, when I host online coops, 99% of them are unmodded.

maybe this is the way to go........
i actually gave the whole online thing the finger
The only mods I really enjoy is the 6DOF and AI Mod and obviously the sounds!!!
I'll uninstall the whole thing and try unmodded
*screams* I just want t to fly in full realistic server!!! *screams*
