Late P-51D-models and F-51 armament? - sabreclaw - 12.11.2009
I was wondering if anyone in here does have any idea about late P-51D models & F-51's armament - becuase as everyone has probably noticed, the tracer rounds look different than normal Browning M2's. So is it a whole new weapon or do they just have changed the color of them?
I've been trying to find this out from google but with bad luck so far

F-51 is a P-51. There is no difference in the airplanes. Shortly after the Army Air Forces became the U.S. Air Force , in 1947, they changed the designation for fighters from P, for persuit, to F, for fighters. That's it. The Mustangs kept their old Browning Point Oh Fives and soldiered on until the were declared obsolete after the Korean War.

hehe, browning m2 .50cal yep ^^ but the thing i ment was a thing that you can notice in game: when you shoot with 25/30-NA or F-51 those tracer rounds are different coloured than original M2 .50cals. So is that still Browning M2 .50cal or is it different weapon?

Same weapon, different ammo... APIT
Oh yeah, although it was not intended, the F-51D's were often refitted with un-cuffed Hamilton Standard props which slightly improved performance.
