I'm looking for a mission tester to check compatibility - flying_spud - 14.11.2009

Hi guys,

I'm part way through an historical mission pack called "Mediterranean Air War 1943". When done it should have around 8 or so missions all based on real events; 2 each for GB,US,DE and IT-RO (I use Rumania cos the radio chatter is perfect).

A heck of a lot of research has gone into these missions and they reflect simulations rather than "game" type missions -I like those too - don't get me wrong, its just I love using my library of books!

I did something similar a while back and its still available at M4T mods "Libya air war 1942". Seems to have been pretty popular.

This, and all future mission packs, are being made with 4.09bm. I really need somebody who has 4.09 to check their compatibility for me. If okay I can label them for 4.09bm and 4.09 use. If not just for the first. Obviously I can't do that myself.

They will use 3 maps from here plus the add-on objects that come with El Alamein (Hal_Rones great stuff etc) and the Spitfire VcFB/V111 mod also from here, otherwise they're stock.

Howdy Spud,


I just got through installing 4.09m using the UP 1.8 setup. All I've done so far is to load the game and check out a few of the aircraft in the Quick Mission Builder. So I know my 4.09m version of the game works and would be happy to try out a few of your missions for you. A body can never have too many missions as far as I'm concerned.

Beyond checking for compatibility is there anything else you'd like checked out? Let me know and I'll see what I can do for you mate. TTFN.

thanks for your reply mate - its handy you being across the pond because I'm thinking of adding more US missions to this pack as I didn't do any with the Libya pack purely due to lack of info!

308th FS, 31st or 52 FG's (not sure which) believed operating out of Korba in Tunisia; any idea what mark of Spitfires this unit flew around June 1943? I've initially opted for a combination of Vc's and V111's, with the V111 being flyable (cos it rocks!), but now I'm wondering if they really had V111's as early as this date? If they didn't then they did bloody well with their V's against Mc.202's and Bf-109G2's!! and i guess i'll have to downgrade em.

what I'm also lacking is good detail on US P-40 ops over Tunisia and the med area. So far I've only got enough detailed info on the one P-40m (f) mission and thats for the infamous "palm sunday massacre of german transport aircraft and escorts flying tunis-sicily.

never done this before - how do I get the missions to you? perhaps you could act as playtester too, feel free to pm me any way.
