Second copy - Rodders - 17.11.2009
Hi All,
Can anyone help.
I have a 1tb F drive in my Vista pc, and wanted to put the new 4.09 patch in, so i was looking at a second copy.
Because i have vista it was suggested somewhere a long time ago not to put it in program files, so having got this second drive i put it in there. I thought about accessing the set up file in the official 1946 one i have so i can have one copy with the officail mod 4.09, but when i try to do this i get a message saying do i want to cancel/delete my other copy. So i don't carry on.
Forgive me i'm no expert, but is there any way to do it so i have 2 copies where i could possibly use the disc for the official mod 4.09, and as i have been doing having the version switcher on my desktop for the UI.
Hope this makes sense,
Thanks.

This game can be copied, placed elsewhere, renamed and will run with no ill effect.
Copy it to whichever location you want and rename it. Create a shortcut to the switcher and use this as your modded one.
Uninstall the original one, delete any left over folders, and reinstall fresh from the disc, again to wherever you want, add 4.08m and 4.09m to create your original.
To save time you can also copy the 'Users' folder out of the modded game to retain stick settings and the 'conf' file to retain other settings eg graphics. The 'Paintschemes' folder contains the aircraft and other skins so put across what you want from the modded one into the official.
