To ALL JAVA WIZARDS : RAF default markings - GilB57 - 28.11.2009
Something I discovered... maybe already known, but I'm not sure because bugs are still there
So I want to shear (and as I'm not able to make java files)...
In plane Java files the RAF markings scheme (roundels) appears to be controlled by this param :
PaintSchemeFMPar with numbers after.
ABOUT RAF planes : A few markings schemes were used along the war :
Pre war scheme (1939-early1940) : all roundels : blue-white-red (equally wide) >>> use
FMPar01
Early war scheme (1940 to 1942): fuselage (& underwings in IL2) roundel: yellow-blue-white-red (equally wide) >>> use
FMPar02
Late war scheme (1942 to 1945): fuselage (& underwings in IL2) roundel: thin yellow-blue-thin white-red >>> use
FMPar04
Very late war scheme (1945) : all roundels : thin yellow-blue-thin white-red >>> I don't know if this param exists ?
So Spit mkI SHOULD HAVE : PaintSchemeFMPar02
Hurri mkIIb SHOULD HAVE : PaintSchemeFMPar02
Spit mkXII SHOULD HAVE : PaintSchemeFMPar04
... just examples
I also noticed another param. :
PaintSchemeFCSPar ... maybe color of code letters (as some are light green & others are red ) but I'm unable to test it, so if someone can explore ?
I hope it may help ?
NB: I also noticed that USAAF fighters (P47, P38, P51s) often carry numbers instead of letter codes (correct for P51b & P51c but not for P51d) but it may be possible to play around with these params to find an issue ...
