HSFX and .sfs - Davis0079 - 30.11.2009
how do I get AAA mods to work over hsfx. I like having 4.09 and 6dof with all the aircraft they offer. But I want HG&P eyecandy. I tried installing in the jsgmemods folder and activating, but I dont think its working. It must have a compatibility issue with the history mod?? thats if it can even be used throught the GME system.
btw how many modders are moving to the new sfs. system, I heard the UI is going that direction??

I have the same problem. I also can't get TrackIR 6DOF to work in GME with the HSFX Mod activated. It says the .exe for IL2FB.exe has already been modified by HSFX and could have adverse affects on the game. I get the same thing if I try to add any other mods to GME with the same file structure mentioned in the HELP file.

Same here..
It works, but it is only like 2DOF not 6DOF. I can look left right up down but no lean or zoom.

I've used JSGME for quite some time now, just ignore it when it say's the adverse effect thing as it means nothing.
Not sure how but my 6Dof works fine in HSFX
- coatesy75 - 30.11.2009

With old versions of TIR you wouldnt notice, in that the old version were not 6DOF
With that said, what version of TIR do you have?
In that I think 6DOF came out in TIR4, I have TIR5
So if you have TIR3,2, or 1 you wouldn't even notice that the 6DOF does not work
Well.. actully I just check I can look left/right up/down and I can rotate left/right
But I can not lean/slide left/right, up/down or zoom in/out.
Thus the symptom here is I can do most thing, except move the POV. I can look lft/rigth, up/down, rotate lft/righ from the standard/stock POV, but I can not move the POV. As in lean or should I say slide lft/rgt front/back. That is the real neat thing about 6DOF I can move the POV by sliding a little lft/rgt, up/down, in/out to look around cockpit bars and/or things like head rests to ck six
So in essance the 6DOF is not working, just the standard old TIR support

i have a 5

Yes No Lean or zoom?
Are you saying, "Yes I can not lean lft/rgt, zoom in/out, slide lft/rgt, move up/down?"
- coatesy75 - 30.11.2009
yes just left/right up/down
- coatesy75 - 30.11.2009
NO lean at all

Ah so you have the same problem the rest of us have.. There must be a fix, in that it says it is the 6DOF mod! What we have now is the stock IL2 TIR support.. with maybe the added ability to rotate the view lft/rgt. Which I can not remember if that was part of the stock TIR support?
I do think I know how to 'fix' this
DL the 6DOF mod from AAA, and install it to a temp dir. Before you run it put a copy of your il2fb.exe file in that dir!
Reason being the 6DOF mod actully edits the .exe to enable 6DOF support!
Than copy that il2fb.exe back into your game dir
I had to do this once a long time ago, just all this talk just reminded me of that
PS in the 6DOF mod, when it installs it deletes the little util program (exe) that modifys the il2fb.exe, thus you never see this little util in your install. But if you open the 6DOF mode exe (that is open it like it was a rar file, in that it is just a rar file that is made into an exe) you can extract that little util to run it whenever you need to.

I can't even get that far. If I tell it to go ahead and install the 6DOF, it deactivates the HSFX or if I install 6DOF first and then try to install HSFX, it will deactivate 6DOF. Basically, I cannot have both running at the same time.
This is what I get when I try to install both 6DOF and HSFX at the same time.

I had the same problem, fixed with the .exe by zaelu found here:

I had problems initially with getting both the FHSX and TIr working. I found that I had to install HSFX FIRST, using JSGME, and then install 6DoF. Just ignore the warning, HSFX will work just fine, even though it is greyed-out in the JSGME screen.
