A radio chatter question - Bob Holmes - 02.12.2009
You guys helped me on my last query concerning maps. Now, I have another issue (albeit a rather small one)......
I know nothing about the internal workings of the game except what I learn here. I turn it on, if it works I play, if it doesn't then I come here for help. Anyhow, when I fly a QMB RAF mission, pretty much any map, the radio chatter goes well. I use a chatter pack from mission4today. However, during the mission, pretty much continually, I get a Russian voice saying something or other, always the same words. It's irritating to say the least. It doesn't detract from the meat of the mission so much, but it does seem to hurt the "immersion" (a word used pretty much around here). Any idea where it could be coming from? I don't think, since the original IL2, I ever played a Russian mission (not discriminatory, just haven't). It's always the same words, and I am fairly certain that the chatter pack I use doesn't include it.
Any ideas are appreciated. Thank you again.

When using the QMB, make sure you select the customize button for your flight as well as all your other planes and set their country to an English speaking one.
The game defaults to Russia for the country (Oleg's little jab).
Problem will be fixed until you change the plane type. Then you'll have to do it again.

I do notice that oftentimes when you do the customize thing that the red star will be on the aircraft until it's changed to RAF, USAAF, etc. Is that were the problems occur? I think that I always do that. Would certain aircraft be prone to the language thing, and others not?
Thanks for the response. I'll be careful from now on to do the things you mention.
