Yeah, I'm very familiar with certificates AI mod. You'll see a lot of my posts on the threads that existed during it's development. I'm fairly certain it does not take this into account.

Yes. although, most of the rear view mirrors have a rather limited FOV. It is a factor, however, I find it frustrating when I'm behind and below an AI fighter, where I couldn't be seen even with a rear view mirror, and instead of making an undetected attack, my target makes a perfectly timed jink, just when I'm about to open fire and I'm clearly in his blind spot. It's true that the AI fighters are 'not that smart' anyway and maybe that makes up for it. I thought I would throw this out there for discussion and see if anyone has any opinions.

I've flown a T-6 Texan a few times. You can't see directly below or at your 6 o'clock low.

It's probably possible, (I mean, basically anything is possible with it) but would require recoding of almost all of the AI behavior. I experimented with it, but it's devilishly hard to make a change to the AI detection behavior without it affecting it throughout the whole fight.
By that I mean that if you made it so they can't see their low 6 when you bounce them, you'll also be invisible on their low 6 when you turn behind them in the middle of a fight, and they won't bother taking evasive, since it uses the same AI "situational awareness" model.

Very interesting. So, if I understand this correctly. If I got into an AI 'blind spot' during a dogfight it wouldn't maneuver to try and find me again it would just forget about me and stop fighting? If that's so then I can see the problem.

Yup, that's the problem I had.
