Increased Sink times, have they changed? -
slipper - 08.12.2009
Hi all,
I just set up a blue v red fleet battle to check out HG+P's fire and smoke effects, and while they were stunning i noticed that the ships seemed to be sinking quite fast.
I am running UP 1.8, which has ship pack 2 installed, which i thought included an increased sink time for ships. I seem to remember downloading a mod a while back that increased the sinking time of ships, so that when they had recieved critical damage they still took a long while to sink, at the moment as soon as the ships recieve critical damage in UP 1.8 they sink more or less straight away.
Can anyone throw any light on this, or point me in the direction of a mod that increases sink times please.
regards slipper

slipper,
I have UP 1.8 as well, and I found the same thing--ships do seem to sink as fast as the old days. I also had the slow-sinking mod. I'm going to resurrect it tonight and see what happens.

+1 for the slow-sink mod
Ships can sink within a few minutes IRL, but that does'nt mean they all do, as in IL2

If you have that mod please post a link for DL for others to use as well. Thanks Bud!

The slow sink mod is not compatible with Zuti's MDS mod which conflicts with it....and he said when i asked about incorporating it that some people like the slow sink times whilst others do not...so he isn't intending to combine them.
I understand that for his MDS where there is respawning of ships that it might cause difficulties....
a pity...I love the slow times too....
just disable the MDS with the JSGME when you want to run a mission that doesn't need his mod and want the slower times.....although i doubt if it is in the HSFX/Ultrapack so you need to add the slowsink mod to the mods folder...or JSGME folder and install it as you uninstall the MDS
the slowsink mod is at my site ...link below

Since some of you folks have used the Sink Time mod, maybe you can tell me where the files go.
When I unzip the files, there is no folder, just files with meaningless names.
Where exactly do I put them?
Thanks Spinner
