FMB--I hate setting ship speed at every waypoint - saunders1953 - 13.12.2009

Hi all,

Is there a way to mod the FMB so that when you set a new ship waypoint, it will set the same speed as was set for the last waypoint? When you set A/C waypoints, it automatically sets the speed at the last speed set for aircraft. But ships are just the opposite, and it's very frustrating when trying to set ship waypoints to simulate evasive action when under attack. You can make convincing looking circular wakes, but it takes a lot of waypoints close together, and at each one you have to set a new speed unless you want the ships max speed (which is the default speed). That would be OK if every ship had the same max, but they don't, so trying to get a whole formation to turn/evade together is a real bitch!

If there's a way to do this within the game's current system, please let me know.

FMB does cause a certain degree of stress the way it's setup. Numbers for objects... only become easier if you personally organize them. Little limits become such a drag, but you must deal with it. The only thing I know of that may be of some help is by searching FMB unlocked. Problem though FMB unlocked is for map builders not missions.

+1 for a better system.

Agreed, that's a bummer right enough. Trying to get a convoy to turn and not lose formation took me forever; a job made worse by having to set each individual waypoint.

I think that for something like you desbribe I'd change the waypoint speeds in notepad. Almost as frustrating, but at least they are all visible at once and you can copy and paste.

Hi dunkelgrun,

yes, I've used the notepad method. You're right...I can cut and paste and see them all at once (more or less), but it is still a pain.
