Hi all, I have a problem with my pc, just googled to detect the problem...But maybe, some of you guys can help me out with it
When I start my PC, running WinXP Pro, I get a screen with those safe modes and stuff, and when the loading screen of XP appears, a blue screen flashes, and the PC starts up again.. I know, that's the BSOD
I get this message (Translated from Dutch to English, may not be accurate)
There is a problem found. windows closed to prevent damage to avoid it.
If this is the first time that you see the stop error screen,
you must restart the computer opsarten. If the screen appears again, you should perform the following steps:
Uninstall any antivirus tools
disk defragmentation and making back-ups remove or disable
utilities. Check the configuration of the hard disk
and check for updated drivers. Run CHKDSK / F from to
check
The hard disk is damaged and then start the computer.

Does it boot up in safe mode? If it does then back up everything important.
- Fryslanboy - 22.12.2009
Well, I can choose between the modes, like safe mod with internet, last known good working mode and just the normal mode..
Most of my stuff(My Documents and most games) are stored on a external harddrive, so I will only loose some programs

0x00000024: NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
A problem occurred within NTFS.SYS, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS file system drives. There may be a physical problem with the disk, or an Interrupt Request Packet (IRP) may be corrupted. Other common causes include heavy hard drive fragmentation, heavy file I/O, problems with some types of drive-mirroring software, or some antivirus software. I suggest running ChkDsk or ScanDisk as a first step; then disable all file system filters such as virus scanners, firewall software, or backup utilities. Check the file properties of NTFS.SYS to ensure it matches the current OS or SP version. Update all disk, tape backup, CD-ROM, or removable device drivers to the most current versions.

put your windows disk in the CD ROM start the computer and choose install, after it has loaded the files into ram it will look for "already installed OS" then you will be given 3 options one of them is "R" repair , choose repair and windows will reinstall all the core files with out you losing any of you programs. you should be able to boot up after that.

While not cheap, Spinrite is an incredibly good tool for repairing hard disk and recovering the data.
