That's a really good vid.
Good idea to combine real persons with IL-2.

Did you use the Il2 green screen? That movie must have took much time to complete. Thank you very much for sharing it!

Thanks Cnopicilin for the comment!
Yes, the movie was made with the green chroma map, originally developed by a member of AAA in 2008; DOGEATER (Ru).
It seems only Tuckie and me use this fantastic tool. :???:
Just hope that SOW can accomodate a green map.....just imagine the life-like imaging possibilities..

Brilliant work, biltongbru. Expertly filmed and a good story well worth telling.
Seems like you have been developing your green screen techniques over the past year or so, and have now mastered the technique. IL2 films need more content than just aircraft flying around and this is one excellent way to do so.

Great movie!

Thanks my fellow Saffrican
ww2 gear: mostly repro
-My wife made the pilot suit from a modern boiler suit: she added all the zips and extra pockets+ new collar
-Only 1 German uniform was used; repro from Singapoer through E-bay (Fliegerbluse, trousers, side cap, officer cap and belt) all actors were separately filmed and put together with composite clip
- Flying helmets are originals...picked them up cheaply from flea market trader who had no idea of value
- Flying goggles I made by modifying modern sunglasses
- Flying boots ankle parts I made from very cheap artificial plastic leather (vinyl)
- All rank insignia and medals made from paper photocopies sticked on cardboard
- Parachute harnass made from used nylon truck loading straps, buckles from plastic property signage board
- Flying gloves: belonged to my grandfather and was his police service riding gloves
- US cap got on E-bay very cheaply
thats about it, all the props!
