my ini files for the UP2.0 - fabianfred - 24.12.2009
http://www.4shared.com/account/file/180 ... rUP20.html
Here are my .ini files for the UP2.0
backup your own by opening the Files/com/maddox/il2/Objects folder..... make a NewFolder in there and copy all your ini files into it...then allow mine to overwrite yours...
Chiefs.ini has extra trains and columns of tanks/vehicles
Static.ini has all the Objects currently available plus a few others.....use only if you want to.
Technics.ini has ALL the static a/c with secondary explosion and smoke when destroyed.... also the HSFX mod altered the artillery by shortening their ranges drastically for the purpose of the SEOW....mine has longer ranges similar to the default ones.......also submerged submarines can more easily be destroyed by close bombs/depth charges.(except Greenling)
Ships.ini has the manned AA guns on ships easier to destroy by strafe/bomb/rocket/cannon...

Hi fabianfred
very appreciated , finally we have additional .ini files entries
Thank you so much for your .ini's and blasting action missions work !
I just switched yesterday from V 4.09b1m 0.93 custom sound mod to UP 2.0 !
It's a very nice treat , I got all stuff up and running in no time with all previous mods .
Love the UP 2.0 initial loading screen with FW-190/Spit
Merry Christmas to you and your family

Thank you for your .ini's. I did not realize that UP 2.0 had downgraded their .ini's to please the poor HSFX folks.

If I install these .inis, will I have issues with joining coops with users of 4.1? Or are these strictly intended for offline use?
- fabianfred - 24.12.2009
They should not affect CRT......BUT are really best for off-line use....
They give some slightly different vehicle and tank columns from the default....so you may see more or different vehicles in a column than those who are using the default ini files.
They give extra trains or of different make-up which others would not see if a mission file you made was used by them.
They make Submerged subs more easily sunk....not possible with default settings.
They increase the ranges of artillery etc.
They cause the small AA guns on a ship to be able to be destroyed more easily by hits or nearby explosions.
If you want to be able to swap easily between these and the default one for online use....then add them to a new folder....suppose we call the new folder Freds ini's and add the com folder to that...not the Files folder....then put it in the JSGME folder so it can quickly be enabled or disabled...... then they will override the defaults.....
Remember that the game uses files in this order of importance....and ignores subsequent ones.
1. Mods folder
2. JSGME folder
3. Files Folder
4. sfs files (compressed and encrypted)

Sounds good.. I would thing UP would have the superset of entries, and then HSFX and others would pick and choose what they use? Just thinking aloud....

These look excellent! Thanks for sharing these

Just for the sake of compatibility only.... could we have a version that contains no modifications in range of ground weapons and/or ships AAA or ground units resistance to fire but contains all the extra visual effects for the stationary/moving objects?
Thank you!!

fabianfred,
would it be possible to clone some objects, such as the coastal artillery bunkers or some of the large long buildings ( to use as sub pens ), and to give them a destruction value that only say a direct hit from a 2000 lb or 5000 lb would destroy.
or could you maybe give me some pointers on how to do it myself if you have not the time.
thanks for a great addition
regards

fabian fred,
I think i may have found a problem with your files, from a previous post of mine, regarding saving of missions in full mission builder.
"Hello all,
I am running UP2.0 and have been adding various mods, yesterday i tried to add some map mods, i added the following succesfully,
Palembang
Sakashima
but with the following three
B29 Alley
Archangelsk
mixx_zapolar
I can load the maps in full mission builder but cannot save any missions, i have followed the advice given by Fly_zo, and the advice in the mixx_zapolar readme about adding the 3do file contained in the download (tried with and without with the same result).
I was wondering if anyone else has had success loading these maps with UP2.0 and if so did they have to find a work around.
any help greatly appreciated
regards
slipper"
Now i replaced your files with default UP2.0 files and the problem goes away, and everything loads as it should, could you verify my results and if possible may be provide a solution as i am a great admirer of your mods and would like to keep them if possible.
many thanks

Thanks for the ini files Fabian Fred. I am not sure if it is just my system or if it is accross the board but
I found that the static.ini interferes with the loading of some missions in the Single Mission generator.
For example, the USSR Hurricane mission will not load when your static.ini is in use.
Is it possible some ojects still required by the stock missions were accidentally omitted from your static.ini?
I am using UP 2.0 with the new update patch.
Thanks for any advise.

The static.ini checker program should be able to compare it with the actors.static from any map and see if objects are missing...
haven't tried those new maps yet so no idea about why they will not save.

fabianfred,
Thanks for the reply, tried the static.ini checker and all objects that the map load.ini calls for are present in your static.ini, but the new maps still do not save unless i reinstall the default UP 2.0 static.ini? any ideas appreciated.
Ps. if i use all of your files ships.ini, chiefs.ini, technics.ini along with the default UP2.0 static.ini would that be ok? or would it result in problems with loading of objects?
thanks again

AFAIK only the static.ini is relevant to the objects...not the other ini files
did you check the console when the map/mission is opened in FMB to see if any errors are reported? Should also be in the logfile.log too.
