Me109 E-7 and K4 SKINs "Factory Production" downlo - max_thehitman - 27.12.2009

Hello friends.
Well, today I was making some hangars and stuff to create some type of German airplane factory and then
I noticed... there are no "factory-fresh-production" Luftwaffe Skins available to add to my map!!
Damn, that

- Fryslanboy - 27.12.2009

Hell yeah!! Really nice max!

- Alemart_el_Redentor - 27.12.2009

It looks very well, are you going to make more factory fresh skins?, maybe for other planes?.

- CUJO_1970 - 27.12.2009

Nice, but they all had factory codes on them before they even left the hanger.

Nice work - db605-A/S - 27.12.2009

However not only codes, but some or all insignia was applied at the factory as well. By the K variant the insignia was reduced to the white or gray outlines.

Looks great!

Werk Nummer's were clearly visible as well. If you are doing Focke Wulf's, here is an interesting note.

The RLM had issued "directives" concerning the application of the insignia as the war changed availability of supplies, and the need for a faster turnaround at the factories ensued. Messerschmidt did not adhere to all of the "rules". Black was added when it was not ordered and white was left out ...etc. Focke Wulf on the other hand, followed directives to the letter.
Also these directives changed constantly, adding to the confusion at the Me factories.

Thought you may want to know.

You unfortunately wouldnt see a 109K in this state, the components were painted separately before the final assembly, not after the airframe was put together.

Its most obvious at the vertical tail, it was made in 5 different places the, main fin, the rudder, the cap attaching the fuselage, the elevator attachment and the under the elevator.
These were all painted on the line and could all be completely different to each other.

heres an example

The numbers painted on the rear fuselage on in some 109K photos were the last 3 digits of the Werk number, this was a feature of later war Mtt Regensburg built 109s not just K's.
It would be good to include them but if you are making a generic skin for a default then it would look a bit off having all the same numbers on the 109's

Thanks very much for your ideas and very useful information.
I will create about 4 diferent skins for each airplane type (4 = Me-109 // 4 = Fw-190).
Maybe a few other airplane types too.

That way you can add them to the factory buildings on your maps and they will
be diferent looking aircraft from the other planes placed next to them... Or you can fly them in a mission
where a German worker decided to steal an airplane from the factory and excape to the Allied side Big Grin LOL

So, they will all be in various stages of completion. I am also thinking of adding a few other airplanes
to this skin-style. Never seen anything like it before, except on the Me-262 (and my skin version of
the Me-262 HG-II)

Some will have numbers and markings, while others will be almost like the one posted in these
early-skin images I have posted. The one I posted here is actually the 3rd version, so I am still trying to
match some details to the actual photos I have seen from the real thing and from some movies I have seen
on Me-109/Fw-190 in factories.
I will post the rest of the skins here on this post as soon as I create them.

See you later.

These look mighty groovy on my game flights and positioned near a Messerschmitt factory Big Grin
Hope you enjoy them too.
