Can CRT=2 be used with server/client rather than dedicated? - burns - 30.12.2009
CRT=2...or CheckRuntime=2.
Can this be used for a non-dedicated server? IE, server/client in a game.
Is there any documentation about this feature that I can read?
Thanks. :-)
I placed it in my conf.ini file and started my server/client (both since I act as the server, but it isn't dedicated...I play from the same session), others can't join. I thought we were all at the same level...mods, version, etc. What should I have them check?

[NET]
checkRuntime=0 No check is made (Default)
checkRuntime=1 Quick check
checkRuntime=2 Comprehensive check
NOTE: During the comprehensive check, if the client runs a different OS version than the server, the check may identify the OS differences as changes in game modules.
I've also heard of instances where certain drivers installed on the client's computer can result in failing a comprehensive check. For instance, a particular set of printer drivers. It can get complicated.
**Also, note the CAPS in the spelling. You have it incorrect in your post;
Correct: checkRuntime=
Incorrect: CheckRuntime=
***Also, if you have a particular group of friends that you are hosting for, I would disable the CRT check and FIRST make sure everyone is joining ok. If everyone joins ok, THEN add the CRT check and see what happens. (At this point you are just assuming it is the CRT check that is the problem. That may not be the case.)
If everyone joins ok without the CRT check, I would then try CRT=1 first. Then, I would only go to CRT=2 if everyone joined ok with CRT=1.
*If you are hosting for a group of trusted 'friends', you really shouldn't have a need for any CRT check at all....right?

They join in fine. I'll try the crt=1 next. Trusted yes, keeping things uptodate or untweaked...probably. But occassionally we have new people join and this will help assure better compliance. Or so the theory goes. ;-)
Can't even get crt=1 to work....hmmmm.
