[Download] Guardians of the Iron Curtain (mostly Mig-15) - Cracken - 02.01.2010

This is a 20-mission branched Czechoslovak campaign featuring years 1947-1968. (For Ultrapack 2 or SFX 4.1 users)

The latest version here: http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=33268&p=361683#p361683

You start your career as a pilot of the National Security Corps air force and then you will be transfered to the army to fly (mostly) jet Migs. Notice that some missions are based on real events, while some (especially in 1968) are pure ficition. My intention was to create a jet campaign where we could use our national speech pack.

WOW pal this campaign looks so awesome indeed :O, i am just curious, what were those "friendly fire incidents" actually?.

- Cracken - 02.01.2010

E.g. When Soviet Mig-17s accidentaly shot at Czechoslovak Il-10 over Slovakia in 1956.

(And my campaign contains a fictional combat against Soviets in 1968 when they invaded Czechoslovakia.)

- Alemart_el_Redentor - 02.01.2010

I see, why did the soviets did that? :o

- Cracken - 02.01.2010

They must have confused it for NATO aircraft. Especially Soviet pilots of non-Russian nationality were more "trigger-happy" then Russians. And they were very aware of the fact they could encounter a NATO plane. And what happend to them if they let a real NATO plane fly away? Perhaps a penalty...

I see :S

What mod has the "dead man" model?

- Cracken - 02.01.2010

Ultrapack 2 - when an infantry unit is hit by fire, humans run away and die like this (same as running humans from vehicles from the original IL2)... But it is realy hard to spot, or even record.

Like always. Your campaigns are simply BEST !!!

- JG3_VonHahn - 02.01.2010

this is a very intersting and well made campaign. Great and thx.

- European Snake - 02.01.2010

The fact that you didn't include the 12 to 1 kill ratio the American's had against Migs utterly ****es me off! And that you called us imperialists makes it worse. If I were one to file a frivolous law suit, I could win the case against hate speech. Remember, history is written by the victors. And if we had a Rolling Thunder 3 and 4 I bet good money we'd have won Nam!

People don't get on me for this. I know exactly what I am saying and what the creator of this campaign means.

- Uzin - 02.01.2010

Hi, European Snake,
did you ever read about alternative history?
As it concerns the imperialists, it is there for better immersion to that times ,
when propaganda used such words, that is the way I undestand the creators intentions.
It is a game, remember ! :fight:

And last but not least, as Bombsaway says:
WARNING: The Surgeon General has stated-"Those without a sense of humor to please, immediatly see your doctor and have one surgically inplanted."

- Cracken - 02.01.2010

Uzin is perfectly right - it is a game, nothing else.

Otherwise you would never fly for Germany in this game because of concentration camps, the USSR for gulags etc.

And the language I used? Well, the commies used it - I just adopted it for the game... But if you wish, Snake, you may litigate with all commies all over the world...

You should have read what I wrote in the campaign description before making any harsh judgements: "I must say in advance I am just a non-ideological person who just wanted to build a fun campaign, I did not want to glorify any regime which is based on opression!"

So, cool your hot head or file a claim.

Cheers.

^ I agree with the previous post.

BTW, what's wrong with calling the West imperialist? Technically, isn't that what we are? Hell, it's what we were for the past several hundred years.
