1 Skin = Heinkel 219 Uhu Prototype V-1 Night-Fighter - max_thehitman - 07.01.2010

Hello friends, today I have a brand new skin for you.
The first Prototype V-1 of the famous Heinkel-219 "Uhu" Night-Fighter Big Grin

Now for those skinners that need to know, here is what I have found out while working on
this Frankenstein Skin, and these tips might save you loads of headaches and hours work.
This is what happened on the first few skins I was working on ...

After numerous re-workings of the Void-skin I was able to add some nice details to this classic warbird.
Such as engine smoke, missing rivets, new tires, and other stuff. This aircraft skin folds in such a
crazy way that adding the complete call-letters to the fuselage side is impossible and other details
must be left out, so sorry folks.
But overall its still a very nice airplane to skin and fly ! Try it!

Hello Max,

Great job! Der ist ja schwarz wie die Nacht!
I really appreciate all the work you are doing for IL-2, especially when it is about my favorite night fighters, first the Ju-88C-6 and now the He-219. I would like to use your skins, but is there a way to post them on a site that one doesn't have to register with, such as filefront, mega-upload, etc? Somehow, I can't seem to get registered with flightsimfiles.

Thanks,

RB

Perfect example showing the problems that the HE219 has.

Ranwers did great work and hopefully he or someone else will finally finish this important night-fighter.

Nice job on the skin,Hitman.Could you do a couple more?Maybe one with the standard overall RLM 76 and RLM74 and 76 blotches?

Great stuff! Many thanks for your ongoing contribution! 8)

Thank you, glad you enjoyed this one, now that I know the limits of this skin, many more
will be coming soon!
I got 4 books specially on Luftwaffe Night-fighters jam-packed full of rare and detailed pictures of many
aircraft to skin.
So this is fun to create.

Sorry about the Flightsimfiles upload, I guess they are not taking anymore members, but I also have an account
at Mission4today. I will place them over there for you... if the dam machine lets me. LOL ...Sometimes its hard to
upload stuff at Mission4today.

Valiant effort Max,

its a good example of why I never got past even a basic attempt at making a proper set of lines and rivits for this 219..its impossible.
The lines on the void are sooo far gone I think they just made them up.

- snailsave11 - 07.01.2010

That's beautiful Max!!! Confusedhock: Hope you're going to make more colour skin variations for the 219, because there are hardly any available!!!!

- Alemart_el_Redentor - 07.01.2010

Thanks a lot pal!, really a helpful post! Big Grin

- kleini293 - 07.01.2010

Nice Work! Thanks Big Grin

Perfect, now we can recreate the Uhu's first mission in which Werner Strieb managed to shot down down five British bombers in a span of a little over an hour Tongue

Thank you! Much-needed job. Big Grin
