Direction of static camera? - J99Eingehirner - 13.01.2010
I'm not quite sure if this really belongs into this forum or rather into the one about map modding... but it isn't about modding :-?
I want to know whether there's a way to point a static camera placed in the FMB to a certain object or direction. At the moment, I have the problem that, when placing a camera near a location I want to watch during the game, it always results in me (using FreeTrack) having to jerk my neck rather awkwardly to get the right viewing angle. Is there an option to have the camera face a certain direction from the beginning?
Second question, related to this: Is it possible to have a camera pointing exactly vertically downwards? This would be great for undistorted printable map sheets of the maps...

1 ) cant you toggle Free Track off and use mouse (like you can with trackIR)?
or place friendly object in the direction you want to view and press Shift F6/F7
2 ) FMB - Print screen

The second idea IS good IF I only want to make one screenshot. What I am aiming at is a series of screenshots with cameras sitting at defined positions, so that I can create a high res map instead of the rather blurred image I would get by just zooming out of the map.

you can use the cameraship mod for this (found here on AAA). 360 degree unlimited view 'turret' would allow you to look straight down as you wish.
