DVD-ROM installation won't start! - 5./KG53_Löwe - 15.01.2010

Was going to install a clean version of IL2: 1946 on my computer with my DVD-ROM
but as soon as I choose language nothing happens. I have tried at least twenty times
now and I can't figure out what's wrong.
Anyone who knows what could be the problem?

Have you tried examining the disc and running the .exe directly? I had to do that on several occasions...
Try not to resort to pirating as it is 1. illegal, and 2. the files are usually buggy as hell - maybe if nothing else works...? :-?

Hi,
If you are trying to install onto Windows 7 (64bit) I had exactly the same issue. To fix it I manually ran the a.exe file on the disk to install, but then had to visit the securom homepage and download a diagnostic tool which will update the disk protection stuff and allow the game to run. Hope this helps.

Regards

1. lolololololo
2. Orly? My installation is from TPB "platinum" *.iso, works fine.

right click on your 1946 disc, chose explore, double-click the a.setup exe. good luck.

If you already have il2 installed on your PC, the disk will not run the install. Either completely uninstall/remove your present install or rename it and move it somewhere else- onto another drive if you have one.
