Ultra crashes on our squad-wide coop - F/JG300_Edwald - 28.01.2010

Hi,

I am part of an inter-squad group that share -violently- the virtual skies. We have several years under our bellies and several mods. We have a problem with our latest campaign, Ardennes'44.

We create two missions (red/blue) on two computers then use use Compilo software to assemble them. When tested with 4/5 pilots, no problems. When we go full strength (25 to 32 human pilots) it crashes after around 3 minutes.

Any idea on how to fix this or what causes it?

We tried:
- no modded planes
- create missions with Zuti ON
- create missions with Zuti OFF
- no artificial bases
- all mods off

It seems to be related to the number of players...

Any help would be greatly appreciated by our 4 squads !

PS:
Map is Slovakia 4.09

Something we found, a couple of years ago doing SEOW, was that certain maps have memory leaks (for lack of a better term) and were hitting the 100MB limit in IL-2 when there were a lot of AI on the map. In our case, it was happening on the NWEurope map. There was no fix that I was aware other than using another map, or paring down the AI.

You can monitor it during play, by opening console and entering GC into console. Watch the numbers that returns and see if that is what is happening, or something else. Normally, numbers should be around 30MB, but if it starts to approach 90MB, crash is not far away.

We'll try that, thanx!

I found the old SEOW topic where this problem was discussed, if it is the same issue you are having. Note the post by rnzoli on this page:

By what I have been reading around on a few Forums,
If it is the new Zuti 1.12 that could be the problem.
Many are having SERVERS lock up and crash.
Players are having computer crashes.
You may want to check at the UP forum for help
if you are using that version.-
