hi marcus
there are no mods for forgotten battles, only for IL2: 1946
if you want to use mods, you have no choice but to get 1946.

One more question:
Is it 1946?
IL 2 Sturmovik 1946-FLT | 3.36 GB
"IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 offers new campaigns, missions, aircraft, and many other exclusive moments. Virtual pilots will surf the celestial expanse over the territories of Russia occupied by Germany in Europe, the Far East and the Pacific. "IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946" will contain all the content, which brought the previous additions: at your disposal will be 229 aircraft models (all in the game they presented more than 300).
SCREEN SHOTS :
How do you think? Will i can play on IL2-1946 on my computer?

If you can find a copy of Ace Expansion Pack, which is an add-on for Forgotten Battles, I'm almost certain it has the Spitfire. Try the ubi.com site and maybe they still sell it:

Those screenshots are not from Il-2: 1946. Looks like the console game Il-2: Birds of Prey. The description for Il-2: 1946 on DVD-ROM is correct. That is what you want.

Ok, and What does it mind? This FLT?
- Gumpy - 29.01.2010
There are several different definitions for FLT I'll have to go with this one in this case-Graphics filter used to apply color correction, artistic effects, image distortions, or other modifications to an image; may be loaded and used by several different graphics programs.

There are a couple of patches, but to get the Spitfire, you will have to buy the AEP I posted earlier.
But you will probably pay the same as for 1946, so...?

Hello,
I currently run 1946 on a computer with similar specs to yours (I have already ordered a new one but that's a different story). Personally, I think you could do well in 1946 with lower detail settings and a bit of RAM for your computer. I have an Athlon 1800XP with 3GB RAM and a GeForce6200 (I used to have a Radeon 9600 until it died) and IL-21946 runs not awesome but alright on it. If you are running Windows XP with service Pack 3 I would definitely suggest more RAM (2GB at least). I was able to get 3GB of PC2100 DDR RAM for about $150 from Tiger Direct here in Canada. I'm sure there should be a similar option near where you live.
Cheers,
Fafnir_6
P.S. You may wish to run IL-21946 in unmodded form (only patched to v4.09) since some of the mods are definitely designed for newer computers and seriously degrade performance. Also, using one of the huge MOD packs like UI1.1, UP2.0 or HSFX4.1 can result in serioulsy long game loading times (like 10 minutes) on a computer of this vintage.
P.P.S. I just checked with Tiger Direct and it seems the biggest SDRAM sticks they have are 512MB. If you have 4 RAM slots on your motherboard you should be OK (even 3 slots or 1.5GB is better than 512 by itself).

You don't need a whole lot of hardware to run 46. I have a 1.8Ghz Athlon, 746 MB RAM, and an Nvidia 8600 GT 512MB with Windows XP SP3 and I can crank up the details and it runs mint. With all the mods in UP 2.0m I cant run all the graphics options but it still looks very good.

Is that a PCI-E graphics card Sakai? Most computers from Marcus' era only had the AGP slot which rather severely limits the computer in IL-2 (I was limited that way with my motherboard too). The 8600 is a pretty decent card methinx.

Yes, that's right.
I've got AGP slot.
Thanks you all for help. As yet I'll not buy 1946. Maybe really then, when I'll buy new computer.
I don't know yet.
Thanks for all.
Marcus.
