flaktower -> can a twin artillery be made ? - Guest - 01.02.2010
hi all for my flaktower test i would like an copy of wirbelvind where i elevate the vierling
ive managed to raise the vierling of the Wirbelwind and place in modified tower - heres where i need help:
Two Wirbelwind's are needed in the artillery list - one unchanged and the elevated gun version - made the new folder
with changes, but is missing some entries in files for both to shop up !? CAN a twin be made - ?
no crash on launch - but 2 identical models appear !? (with the data in the original folder) :-?
both called Wirbelwind no AAWirbelwind appers ?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so far: model folder named AAWirbelwind......copy of original - just elevated...
stationary.ini file==> MODS\Static_AC\com\maddox\il2\objects
[Artillery]
AAWirbelwind vehicles.artillery.Artillery$AAWirbelwind 2
[StationaryObjects]
AAWirbelwind vehicles.stationary.Stationary$AAWirbelwind 2
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
technics.ini ==> MODS\Static_AC\com\maddox\il2\objects
[AAWirbelwind] // based on shassis of PzIV.
----------------------------------------------------
which folders should the -
technics.ini / air.ini / chief.ini / stationary.ini / ships.ini / static.ini be located
any idears -or just not dooable ???? :?:

Hi,
There is a technique of swapping the guts of any existing file with the modded guts-replace with the modded data. I have found that it works only if the name of the file is the same. ( Anyone found a work around this? ) So, I attach a file made in notebook inside the parent folder explaining what changes I made to the particular file in question. This way I have a flag, so to speak, which in the future alerts me to the location and contents of a modded file.
Also, there is a post on YouTube on how to elevate any object to a designated height. I assume this includes modded objects. I evelated a search light one time with this technique-put it on a building terrace. Also, put lights in the windows of buildings. Search YouTube IL-2 mods, or something similar. A guy had it explained clearly. Some website somewhere also covers the elevating of objects. A good search engine should lead you there.
Swapping the static camera data for an object's data is the only way that I have heard to do this. The static camera has elevation data that must be kept in the file to make it work. Perhaps you are onto something, though.
I hope this helped.
