Squadron numbers - change or add? - Plantoid 1 - 06.02.2010

Hi all:

I'm starting a campaign and would like to use a fictional squadron to fight a fictional campaign.

Now, is there some way to add a fictional squadron or renumber a squadron?

For instance: I would like a VMF-227 squadron. The Marines never numbered any of their squadrons with this and so I figured it would make a good one to use for an alternative-history campaign.

Can it be done?

Great days all.

Short answer...............Yes.

Be advised, if you start changing/adding fictional squadrons and then use them on-line, they can have detrimental effects such as you flying an invisible plane.

Ok, I accept the warning in good grace. i fly offline or, online with my buddy only. In cases where I would possibly fly online I will make sure to use only those squadrons that are default at the time.

Now, how do I change/add the squadron?

Great days all.

You can go into the 'Regiments' folder and take an existing regiment, edit the data inside it to fit what you would like. Even have that regiment come up with the correct call letters and nose art (if available) for the plane.

It's best to use the Ubitest file first to experiment with.
Remember to back-up your regiments folder before you start changing things.

If you need additional help, PM me and I'll see if I can be of assistance.
