LOD problem - BillSwagger - 10.02.2010

I posted this at UP but i thought maybe somebody here might have a fix on this problem.


On the Ki-43 series parts of the plane disappear at medium distances. I thought it might be because my resolution was too small, but after using a finer pixel setting the fuselage disappears at about 500- 700m.


I just noticed that the Ki-43II completely disappears at similar ranges.

Most other planes have no issues like this so i'm wondering where the problem is. Is this a bug?

ki43ia, no fuselage...this occurs with all three a,b and c.


Ki-43II only pieces can be seen.

Ki-43II completely transparent.


I also noticed the H8k1 goes from being a small dot to a big bomber when in wide FOV. I'm not sure the reason for that, if i zoom in i can see all the different LODs, from dot to fully rendered polys.

This doesn't happen with stock versions of the game.

A lot of the stock airplanes have whole sections that disappear at LOD 3. It's not your computers fault.

I always see this with the B-29,
or well...
I don't see the fuselage of the b-29 then :lol:

Have you noticed this problem with stock planes?

I haven't, only when mod packs are used. I have no LOD issues with stock 4.09m so something tells me it has something to do with a mod.
I know, my powers of deduction are amazing.

But its actually quite annoying. I've only spotted one plane that completely disappears but the other stuff is more of a continuity issue.

I think its just one of those things that gets over looked in the frey of trying to get everything else working and out the door.

The way i've seen this mod community work is that normally problems or bugs get reported and they are fixed with in the next couple versions/patches so hopefully this is something that can be addressed.
