I am not sure if that is the same, but Sani has produced a brilliant relevant mod for Bf109s and 110s exhaust smoke over at SAS

That smoke its not even there, its the oil leak trail GFX.

Its more like a soft haze rather than fine line.

In real life its not noticeble up close, only from far away even then its that soft haze.
