HSFX won't work - azzmunky - 17.02.2010

I've downloaded all the files, run the install program, activated the mod in the activator and still nothing. I followed the installation instructions to the letter.Am I missing something here :???: . Help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

What mods do you have active? The best way to find out is
only use the HISTORY mod FIRST. Then go from there.

Also how did you do your install??
4.07 from disk----> 4.08m patch-----> 4.09m patch----> HSFX-V4.0-----HSFX-V 4.1

DO NOT USE THE 4.09b1m in this install.

So I have to download the stock 4.09? As opposed to the b1m version that comes w/ UI 1.1?

my install goes: 4.07 disc-4.08m patch-UI 1.1-HSFX 4.0 (if I can get it to work)

you've gone wrong with the UI1.1 patch. UI is not compatible with HSFX.
correct procedure as follows: (EXACTLY what skyomish said)
patch game to 4.08
patch game to 4.09 - official 4.09m patch - NOT 4.09b1m!
install HSFX 4.0
patch with HSFX 4.1 update.
done :wink:

After a hardware upgrade I'm back to IL-2 and installed HSFX. No errors reported on install or running the game. The sfs files are there but all the new features are not there when I load up?

Install pathway is 4.07m, 4.08m, 4.09m then HSFX4.0

files used for HSFX were;

HSFX_Version_4.EXE
HSFX_Version_4.W02
HSFX_Version_4.W03
HSFX_Version_4.W04
Part2_Ver_4.EXE
Part2_Ver_4.W02
Part2_Ver_4.W03

I am obviously missing something? Any help is appreciated.

No, you're not missing anything.

You must run the JSGME and enable, at minimum, the Hsfx history mod (move it to the right side).

Also, the default path of the HSFX installer can be a little misleading, and it's possible the installs got directed to the wrong location. When you start the game up, do you get the new HSFX splash screen, or the stock 4.09m one?

The stock one, so it means I've missed something. My system is windows 7 and I've installed to c:\program files (x86)\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\

The problem with going 64bit is there is two systems to deal with Sad

Look in your game folder for a big yellow " G" thats the JSGME enabler.
Make a copy of it to your dest top.

Hi,

Always install IL-2 out Program Files. I put mine out the Users Folder as well to make the file path as short as possible. Essentially, I made my IL-2 a major folder along Users, Windows, etcetera. It works and my simulation runs better than ever with quicker load times!

Ok now i'm getting frustrated. I got 4.09m and installed HSFX over that. Now everything is in Cyrillic, and about ten seconds after it finishes loading it just shuts off completely, no warning, no errror message no nothing. :evil: am I doing something wrong :???:

Good day,

Try activating the " History Mods " and the Zuti in your JSGME Mods Enabler. The JSGME is a major file in the main Registry of files and folders in IL-2 with HSFX mod pack, as you seem to already know. You can also make a shortcut from the JSGME file and activate-open-the JSGME from the shortcut or by directly clicking on it. Click on the History Mods and the Zuti, then push the > button to move it to the right side in the Enabled column. Restart IL-2. This should do it. Smile

I've got the same problem...everytime I run the game it starts in russian...I've updated il-2 1946 first to patch 4.08m and then to 4.09m...then i installed the mod version 4.0...but everytime i activate the HSFX mod it starts in russian.
What should I do exactly? Thanks to everybody can help!

The mod was activated when it happened. I activated the history mod and the zuti mod just to start with. Even shortcut the jsgme to my desktop.
