UI 1.2 and HSFX questions - BlazingAngles - 02.03.2010

Hi, i am currenetly running aaa's UI 1.2 at 4.08. plus a few extra mods not included in UI 1.2, however, I am wondering if HSFX can offer more mods than the current UI1.2. I really love the UI packs and all the X-tra effect i got from it, but I am still looking for more mods if possible. I am a offline DCG guy, so online factor can be ignored. My question is, what does HSFX offer that UI 1.2 does not have? Does it contain more mods than UI 1.2? is it more manageable than UI 1.2? Or better yet, should i switch to HSFX even if i like what UI 1.2 offers?

Hi, B L

I use both the UI 1.2 and the HSFX 4.1. Since you are an offliner with " a few extra mods ", this is what I recommend. Keep your UI 1.2 for a while. I like the HSFX 4.1 and use it for online, but the JSGME switcher makes offline and online mods collecting and handling to be a snap once you are familiar with it. Managing mods is much easier with the HSFX system.

Try the HSFX 4.1 Download the HSFX 4.1 line of add-ons as intructed. Test them for malware and corrupt files.

Give this thing a thorough test fly and I am fairly sure that you will be hooked. It includes almost all UI content plus the 2.1.5 beta, official 4.09, SFX mods, SAS mods, other nice mods, SFS files for quicker loadings, and a bit better performance and quality. Meanwhile as you wait on your HSFX 4.1 build to be completed, you can fly your UI mod pack.

Thanks for the through analysis fireskull. It is quite motivating to hear that as i am currently downloading 4.1. just wondering what is SFX and SAS?

SFX is the mod collection by UltraPack team and their outside collaborations. The SAS is from the SAS team. Both of these groups have their own modding community websites with Forums. HSFX 4.1 and future add-ons are discussed among the major modding community websites, but it was agreed that All Aircraft Arcade would be allowed to have its own Forum with potential for unlimited growth on the subject of HSFX.

Fair warning: A few of the mods have been revised in HSFX 4.1 However, there are alternatives such as applying the HSFX add-ons to the 4.1, using patches, or simply swapping the mod that you like into the HSFX 4.1 It is better to deactivate a mod then to remove it from the IL-2 folder. That way you will at least have something that works at all times in case something goes wrong.

Just played a couple Custom games, the effect looks good, but i have a problem with the modded smoke, it hurt my FPS so bad that i can't get shots off. How do i switch back to default 2d "ugly looking but FPS friendly" smoke with all other mods active?
thanks 8)
