From 1280x960 to 1680x1050 - BOYAN - 08.03.2010

Hi all. So I`m planning to go from my old 17" CRT to 22" TFT soon now.

My specs are:

MBO: ASROCK 4COREDUAL-VSTA
CPU: DUAL CORE E6300 2,8 GHz
VGA: GYGABITE HD4670 1GB - 17" @ 1280x960
RAM: 2GB DDR2
PSU: LC POWER 600W
OS: Win XP SP3

Will the new 22" have any effect on IL2 performance and especially fps?
I get average 50+ fps on slovakia map.

Yes a little but it will be playable. But you will feel the effect of fps loss.
your cpu is still good, even if more powerfull would be better, but with a lc power 600w...change your CG. Nividia ( i prefer Ati) is better for IL2 in openGL mode. At the end of mars there will be the new Nvidia CG on the stores, prices will be more interresting than now.

If you stay with the same CG wanting to play at 1600 in perfect mod you will have -15 ou maybe -20 fps compared to what you have now, depending of the map of course, the place, number of planes and FX...

Oh...i don't remember that more and more maps are coming to 1024x1024 texture resolution, at 1600 it's your CG that will be in charge of the filtering (alias and aniso). this is for new maps...but also for older ones under way of been repainted in 1024X1024

Another reason to upgrade it !

You need to change your graphic card soon Tongue thats the reason for the low fps but with the tft like redko said it will be playable.
