Wrong a/c type in campaign - Bundook - 12.03.2010

When I try to play a mission in a particular campaign instead of piloting a BF 109 I'm in a Me 110. This is nothing to do with ranking but wrong a/c type. This happened to me before and I gave up on the campaign. However if this is liable to happen more often, I thought that perhaps I should try to fix it.

Can any kind soul please help me here?

Thanx.

which 110, a C?

so then maybe the campaign is made in pre mod era.
because back when the 110 C was not flyable you could well have it within the same squad and the game nonethelss placing you in the playble 109. but when the 110C is also flyble the game can't decide anymore and places you in first plane, first flight for example no matter what plane it is....

this way in some old campaigns there are the problemes when, say, Ju-52, Storch or others are also in your squad. any formelry not flyable plane can create this issue. can only be helped with FMB and assigning a diffrent squadron to the undesired plane type then.

you can check that easyly by goingto armament screen and see if you have a mixed type squadron (110 and 109 in your case)

it it is a G2 the same issue may apply and it is just a mistake by the campaign maker....

It could help if you told us what Campagin you are doing and pherhaps you misunderstood the briefing and you are actually meant to fly the 110.

Thanks for replying and apologies for slowness in response.

No the mission briefing is certainly for a BF 109 E4. The Campaign in FMB is called "France 1940" and in the career selection screen "Triumph in the West"its the third mission in the set. I have two pilots going through this campaign and in the next mission No: 4 I'm driving a JU 87 instead of said BF 109 E4

I'm running Vista x64 on a XPS 1370 with UP 2.0 installed

I've tried changing the Me 110 model to D but it's still not correct. Help!!

Vampire_pilot you diamond

I re-read your text and this time i saw the the same squadron bit. I went into FMB and checked the Me 110 squadron box tthe first flight was not the same squadron as the 109 but the second was the same. I changed it and voila. Succsessssss

Thanks thanks and thanks again

I'm fly the same campaign and I haven't the same problem.
sometimes happen to me when I select the wrong rank, even if you say "This is nothing to do with ranking" pay atention at the rank.
Anyway there is an updated campaing

Curiouser and curiouser

I mentioned that in the next mission no 4 the wrong plane was a Ju 87. Well, I went into the file and edited out any squadron conflicts. But now I'm flying the wrong 109. This is a single aircraft on its own in flight 4 the player aircraft in FMB is the first aircraft in flight 1 both flights belong to squadron 1 . weird....

Any clues?

ObersDanjeje

I'm not sure what your what your point is. it seems to imply that I am in the wrong plane due to not paying attention to ranking. I can assure you this problem has nothing to do with ranking. Ranking would not put me in a different aircraft type in another flight would it?

- OberstDanjeje - 12.03.2010

Yes, it would, at least it happen to me.
In the BOB campaign from Poltava I start fly He111 in place of Bf109 because I select the lowest rank.
Selecting the correct rank I start fly Bf109.
Some mission builder select some aircraft not fliable so this will not happen.

OberstDanjeje

I humbly stand corrected. I've just looked in the info.properties file and it says in there that I should start as a Leutenant.

thanks so much for your input . Perhaps I can be as much help to someone else in these forums

Cheers

Is there any way I can hack my pilot record in a campaign and change my rank so that I don't have to start over?

- OberstDanjeje - 12.03.2010

Sorry, don't know, but I don't think is possible change rank or so after the start of the campaign.

- Bundook - 12.03.2010

Oh well not to worry, thanks again for your kind help
