SOW update 2010-03-12 - Turul - 12.03.2010
"Hello gents,
A quick update tonight showing a Ju-88 attack formation being intercepted by some Spitfires, and a quick look at our WIP single-player training.
Some notes:
1. Everything is WIP!
2. Text messages on screen are temporary, will be replaced with final ones closer to release.
3. Propellers are stationary in pause mode because time is static, i.e. they're not currently rotating. It's an option you can toggle.
4. Don't ask about the markings on the Ju-88. "

Turul answer me 1 question if possible.
We'll be able to give the control of training aircraft to our students like Flight Simulator X ?
Because this is a big problem at IL2- 1946. When you get a new guy in the simulator and he do your squad training most us need to show him with external views and recorded tracks.
That's really boring for them and only give more work for us instructors because we can't follow them in the pit (and they can't follow us) to show the correct attack angles, descend speed and line up with the runway. That kind of things.
I f you could do the same thing as FSX did or better that would be REALLY great for all of us.

Lovely screenshots! But IMHO I really think that they should up the AA/AF as to me, this is looking quite similar to Il-2. However, it is all WIP so I can only dream of what the real thing will be like!

agreed...the detail in the models is amazing but it kind of loses effect with no AA on.

Terrain looks kind of crappy... Nothing special in these screens actually.
- DutchRanger - 12.03.2010
Exactly my thought also,WiP for like a decade nothing special to see in these screens

Awesome! Even when the textures are a WIP.

Ive seen better screenshots, but at least we are getting updates. I dont like the exaggerated control surface movements. Notice the full up elevator on the Spitfire. Do that at anything other than very slow speed and you would break the aeroplane. Il-2 game series has the same mistake.
Still, only a small detail .

I don't care what you all say, i love it!

The real thing WILL look like IL2. :o
A detailed objective viewpoint... - Fireskull - 12.03.2010
Hello, everyone
Once again, I must express my humble little opinion about what I see.
Turul and Team:
The land in the map looks to be making good progress. Unlike stock IL-2, the land textures are much more randomized. There is more variety of colors. I must look hard to see repeat patterns, unlike IL-2 which has obvious carpet patterns. The roads are straight or curved where you would expect. Rivers and roads no longer have sharp angles but are slithering naturally through the country. Textures, too, have more random appeal. Overall, a wider range of variety is shown.
About the aircraft, I see fabulous glass and glass frame detailing. The paint is more realistic, being a balance of flat and shine in the paint on the skin, just like typical World War Two aeroplanes. The surfaces which are supposed to have round, curving lines, well-they actually
are round. There are no more polygonal shapes where they were supposed to be round-
they actually are round as they should be. Interesting that the glass and frame shadows appear in detail on the engine in the lone Ju-88 picture.
Ah! I see whitecaps again on the water surface. The waves are random in shape, size, and grouping.
Turul, thank you for spending the time to share these with us.

5. Don't ask about the FPS with all the realism options enabled and 50+ A/C shooting at each other.

I am hopeful that my rig will be used at its full potential.
