Bombsight on german planes - =XIII=Shea - 19.03.2010
Hi all i just started learning how to bomb with the bombsights on il2 lastnight :oops:,but i hace a question on using both up 2.0n and hsfx 4.11,when using the he-111,s all of them and ju-88 when i look into the sights the crosshairs dont show up for around 40 seconds also on the me 210 i have no gunsight,anyone else have this same prob?and how did yous fix it,also can yous tell me where there are good tutorial for sight bombing,thanks guys

The reason your crosshairs dissapears is because you must maintain level flight for the bombsite to work, if you leave level flight, by making any sort of manouvre, the crosshairs dissapears and will not reappear until your plane has settled back into level flight.
Probably a safety feature to stop your bombs being flung all over the place

ah ok but with the fw-200 do i always have sight a 45 degree,s before droping the bombs?

nope
For a bombsite that is not automated it becomes more difficult, you must enter you TAS and altitude above target first.
Notice on non automated sites, around the outside of your site, there is a little black arrow and another indicator with a hole in it.
When you have entered TAS and alt, adjust your bombsite angle so these indicators line up, then drop your bombs when your target is in the crosshairs

+1 Except I think that manual bombing makes things so much easier...but then again i've only tried the Kondor from a few 100 metres.
