Mach 1.1? - Aurora - 22.03.2010

I found out that you can reach a max. speed of Mach 1 (~1100Km/h). Get over it and you'll explode.
Is there a mod to get red of it?

- Murilo Specht - 22.03.2010

Sorry, but Mach 1 is approximately 1225 KM/H

- Baco1170 - 22.03.2010

Why would you want to get rid of it?

- nippe - 22.03.2010

because we wanna go fast! Big Grin

I've coaxed a Mig17 to ~850mph at sea level and it didn't explode although I did lose a wing when I tried to raised its nose too fast attempting to see how high I could climb before I needed to level out.

I have reached 1300 km/h in a 262 hg in dives making passes against another planes, you must level so slowly to avoid rip the wings, this is my high top speed and survive it, max speed i got was 1400km/h and plane fail apart

1st, Mach, kilometer wise, speeds are variable with altitude.

2nd, Me 262 HG only does around 1000km/h air speed no matter what the altitude, but true speed will vary with altitude.

3rd, yes you can go above Mach 1 in new slot planes like Mig 15 and F86 Saber, but no, you can't go faster than Mach 1 in IL2 original planes.

- Eagle1_Division - 22.03.2010

Wait... If you can go over mach 1 then what's the big huge "It won't work in IL-2" Issue with jets beyond the Korean era? That's the only reason I've heard so far for not making advanced Jets.

- P/O W. 'Moggy' Cattermole - 22.03.2010

The argument "they won't work" refers more to the avionics and flight computers more modern aircraft generally use. That said, we seem to be marching forward, so who knows?

- Aurora - 24.03.2010

When I go in a dive in whatever plane it will explode at ~1100KM/h
