Request for North Indochina airfields 1946-54 - CzechTexan - 22.03.2010

I'm searching for information on airfields in north French Indochina.
Found this nice link: http://www.frenchwings.net/Indochine/FR ... uments.htm
I can't understand much French but the site seems to have some very good info.

I searched other websites but they don't have what I'm looking for.
It would be nice to have a list of airfields and locations of battles.
This is for a possible AAA map of the area.
Maybe there are some French members who can help?

EDIT: Found this 1970 map showing airfields. Of course most of these were not present before 1954.

WOW Looks sooo familiar - farang65 - 23.03.2010

Hi C.Texan,

That map looks so familiar.

It looks very similar to a start up map from my Indochina pack.

If your using my start up map enjoy it and good luck with the project.

I think from memory I did this map 100 km =1 pixel.

Life has set in with me at the moment not a lot of mapping t all.

God luck with the project.

Cheers Kirby

Hello Kirby. It's good to hear from you again. I didn't know you had a startup map of this area. How much has been done on it?
Agracier is starting this one and my part is to finish it.

Hi C texan - farang65 - 23.03.2010

It's like your request map just one texture.

It covers your picture map.

You can download it at SAS

In the maps section Pacific Indochina map pack

I think I called it North Vietnam/China.

Up to you if you use it or not.

Agracier is very god regarding map making.

keep going with the project it will be a great companion for Mission Bugs South Vietnam map.

Cheers Kirby

Thanks Kirby. I didn't know yours existed otherwise I would have started on it. Agracier is good and FAST. Seems like it only takes him a few days to do everything but populating... that's my job. Hope I can do it well enough justice.
I think everyone will be very impressed with this map.

I'm already looking forward to not only historical French Air Force and Navy ground attacks but also Non-historical scenarios with Viet Minh and Chinese planes.
Agracier was kind enough to expand his microdem map further to the north to include airfields in that area. Looks wonderful so far!
