Takali airfield, Malta. - Dogtail2 - 24.03.2010

Ive been making some historical missions with the Malta map in HSFX.
However there seems to be a problem with Takali airfield in that no matter how beautiful a landing I set up, as soon the wheels touch the aircraft starts jumping around as if I had landed in the rough, but Im definately on the landing strip. The aircraft ends up on its nose nearly 100% of the time.
Is there a fix for this somewhere?

Also at Takali, the AI aircraft crash into the hills near the airfield when making their approach to land.

I have the same problem in the "Operation Aegeus" campaign.
I have landed on Takali fast, slow and with any speed in between but I never managed to get down a Spit in one piece;
it seems though the slower the landing the less the problem with bouncing around;
but as said, in its current state, Takali is impossible to land on....

I hope this can be changed somehow...

I dont have a problem with Takhali.

Using HSFX4.1 either with or without Zuti_DS_Mod activated.

The issue of AI flying into hills is a problem for Map Makers. On hilly terrain it is very difficult to make all the AI approach paths work properly. The approach path is pre-coded and appears to be related to ground level, so sudden changes in ground level on the approach path can either cause ground strikes or loss of approach path causing the AI to "go around".

hello

finally found the solution for my problem on that Malta map;
I installed the MRZ rendition of the Malta map together with the bombed_Malta update, added the appropriate lines to the all.ini and replaced the original MRZ version of the map directly in the mission files with the bombed_Malta updated one;

and finally I can land on Takali-the benefit, the map looks even better now with the craters around;

oh god i love this sim Smile
