Video: Authentic(ish) Guncam Footage - azzmunky - 30.03.2010

As far as the music goes, I just thought that it fit.

Hope you guys enjoy it Big Grin

EDIT:I swapped the audio because, come to think of it Butcher Pete is a really annoying song. The new song is "Colonel Bogey March"
by the Manhattan Brass Band. Proof that sometimes even audioswap does something right.

The footage/editing is really good with some lag in the camera which I assume would be realisic of cameras from that time but As far as the music goes I hated every 1m 29s of it...

Well done but next time remove the sight.

If memory serves, some guncams did have a sight as a point of reference for aiming, which would make sense since they were used as training aids.

OK, that's something I didn't know.

I don't think I've ever seen crosshairs on guncam footage, but I have seen silhouette shapes on the edges of the frame that indicate a gunsight. This is not possible directly in the Il-2 engine, but it's up to you whether or not to include the standard crosshair.

Footage is also played at roughly 1/2 speed in most situations.

I noticed you have problems with fraps causing stutters, and I have the same problem. I suggest that you record at 1/4 speed, but then double that in your movie maker. That will eliminate all stutters. Smile

Don't worry about the music. You can't make everyone happy, and those that aren't should just turn off the sound! Tongue
