skins409m.exe will not install - SlowBurn68 - 01.04.2010
Also posted this over at he zoo.
Just updated from Winxp 32bit to win7 64bit - Had no trouble re-installing the game and updating 4.8m, and 4.9m patches. However when I try to install skins409m, it looks like it patches correctly, but in game I still have the old ugly default skins.
Is there something I'm doing wrong, or a setting I'm missing?
Thanks for any help.

Have you checked in the Readme, which planes exactly got new skins?
Also, make sure the patch is going to the correct location...the patch installs a new fb_3do20.SFS, which is 263,672,606 bytes, date 9/15/2009

I do have the correct location - Hold it - The problem I have is with the "Markings On" switch. The default skins are there, but I also thought that patch fixed the default markings (via Markings on switch) too? Or is that a fix in one of the mods from here?

Some default skins have markings built-in, but not all.
There is a mod, McWolf's Decalshine, which makes markings look better. It, or a version of it, is included in the HSFX and UP packs. It is also avaiable as a standalone mod if you don't have those packs.

That's it. I was using HSFX and that's why they looked good - Has nothing to do with this patch - Duh.
Thanks for the help Bulau!
