I want rotary buttons...good ones or trimming - FlyingShark - 02.04.2010
Hi,
Does anyone know if seperate rotary buttons that can work in Il2 exist? I need them for trimming my aircraft because honestly, with the keyboard it's getting me so nervous to always tab either too much either not enough on the keys to properly trim my aircraft.

i like these topic titles that lead you thinking completey off track.... buttons file for helicopters or something!?
actually to give a hint, there are flight sim joysticks that have multiple throttle / trimm devices. These should work i think. one driver for the device.
do you have such a thing or do you mean "second joystick"? I doubt IL2 supports multiple joysticks. Others may know more though...

Salute,
there is a setting in Foxy's HOTAS Cougar software to program the Antenna-Range-Button for trimming.
Cheers

I do it with the mouse wheel for now too but I actually need analog rotaries.

I have bought a second Saitek throttle quadrant that I set for trimming with my Pro Flight Joke Sistem when I don't use the one on my X52Pro!

Unless you buy a new stick that already has rotaries on it, you'll have to build your own.
Go to these links to D/L the Cougar schematics as they may be of assistance to you so you know what ports need to be wired up. You'll also need a USB interface unless you plan on using the old 15pin Joystick connector that used to be prevelant on just about every sound card known to man kind.
