i dont know if this has been done already by is it possible to make massive holes or cracks appear on the fuselage or canopy? p.s even if it was only visible on cockpit view id be okay with that

't would be possible, yet quite laborious. It would involve editing the ###_D1.msh and ###_D2.msh files of the respective parts to make physical damage like ripped off panels appear. Creating simple bullet holes might be possible using textures though.

Basically if you want it so much, look into modding and try it yourself. I'm not sure people are willing to spend the time to do all this

There isn't a massive damage but adds damage effects to the canopy, oil splats and blood all visible in external views.
