AA and Water in IL-2 - Aurora - 04.04.2010
Is there a way to add Anti-Aliasing to IL-2?
And how to get the Water as nice as here?:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RWgmL4UMCI&NR=1

For the AA, you have to use your graphic card software,
you can set it with the nvidia software and the ATI catalyst.
For Nvidia you have to get in the Control Panel
under the section : 3D Settings -> Manage 3D Settings
and on the right you have 2 Tabs named
Global Settings and Programs Settings.
Under the Programs Settings you can set some parameters specificaly for your il2 installation.
I don't know the way for the Catalyst of ATI, some ATI specialist could be helpfull.
For the quality of the Water, you have to set it in
your conf.ini file.
Under the Opengl section
you have a Water=X
For an Nvidia graphic card you can try to
change the X with the value 4
Water=4
For an ATI you should try
Water=2
After that you have to use
the OpenGL option for your graphical
effect, and go under the Video Options
menu ingame and select the
Landscape Detail
as Perfect
The last but not the least,
in the video you are showing as an exemple
the planes are flying over a map with
modified textures for the shallow water.
PS: All those modifications and upgrades are based
on the supposition your graphic card can handle the
upgraded quality and not get laggy.
In case of some lags over densely populated
area with a recent graphic card
you can try to change the line
ForceShaders1x=0
in your config.ini files into
ForceShaders1x=1
Be carefull you have that line 2 times
one for the DirectX option and
one for the Opengl one.
In hope it help.
