Folder comparison app? - Plantoid 1 - 08.04.2010

Hi all:

Does anyone know of an app that would compare two folders to see what is similar and/or different in each one? I have a couple of version of IL2 - one is the Primary, one is the First Backup and another is a backup from a while ago. My Primary is working like a charm and is stable but I'd kinda like to know what changes I've made since the last backup.

Yes, I keep track of what mods I've dl'd, what I've used, what is pending to be used, and what I've used and removed. However, I feel it would be faster to just let an app run and tell me what the differences are.

Great days all.

There are a few, but I prefer Winmerge, just Google it. Very useful.

If you're wanting to keep them synchronized for backup purposes, I'd suggest Microsoft's SyncToy. It will compare two folders and copy(or delete) files/folders either or both ways.
It can be run in a report-only mode to tell you what's changed without syncing.

Best I have found and used to data is Beyond Compare

http://www.scootersoftware.com/

I use it at work and home

Great for comparing directorys, syncing directorys, and comparing individual files, be it ASCII or Binary
