Need Help - Rall - 20.04.2010

Ok, My friend just got IL-2, but when we tried to patch it to 4.08.m the computer won't let the patch open, you can just see it blinking in the task bar like it wants to open but the computer won't let it. Why is it doing that?

He has Windows Vista by the way.

Try running as administrator when installing the patch.

Corruption can cause this.

I have a very useful help post on how to handle a mod pack. Included are techniques that apply to any download. People need to follow these principles, including your friend, to ensure safe and clean IL-2 related downloads.

Look about half way down the webpage of the link to the muli-colored text and the post named "Mods Download Help Here..."

(The link is inoperative)

Administrator is run by right clicking with the cursor on the icon. A box will appear. In the list of the box is the option to run or open as an Administrator.

I'll try that than, but it's not just IL-2, he said it does that sometimes when he tries to download stuff.

I also have Vista and sometimes have the same problem for no apparent reason. With persistence, it eventually accepts my command. Use Windows Task Manager to close the download and retry several times until it works.
