An Advice to upgrade the monitor - el bradipo - 22.04.2010

Ciao all. I would like some advice. I currently use a samsung lcd monitor 19 res 1280/1024 (good performances..) and i want to change it with a full HD LCD or plasma TV on sale(32 or 37 inches). I wonder if the quality of a TV is comparable to that of a monitor or make a wrong purchase.Advantages, disadvantages? How should be made the connection with the video card or I might have problems? Thank you all and long life AAA.(and u.p. hsfx sas....)(my sistem i7 920 xp sp2 nvidia gtx 295, sim games il2 gtr2 gpl gtl and fps games). Big Grin

I have my PC conected to a 37" FULL HD LG tv via HDMI, and it looks great, but I thik it must be taken into cosideration your video hardware. Have you a powerful video card? If so, plug and enjoy!

Hey, el bradipo. Your max fps is going to be equal to the fresh rate of your monitor or tv. So if I were you, I would try to get something with a high fresh rate of at least 85 hertz or better. Don't forget to run your desktop in the same resolution your game is in. Windows will default your refresh rate to 60 hertz( 60 fps) if you don't. Some monitors and tv's only support high refresh rates in certain resolutions too. So it might be advertised as a 120 hz monitor, but only in one resolution. Good luck!
