[Download] Tempest camo skinpack - UPDATED 2010-6-27 - Serpiko - 04.05.2010
Hi people. Here's a pack of camo skins i've made for this big fat bird, plus a few "bonus" ones.
They are in no way historic, but I think they look cool.
Major credit for these skins goes to
RAF74_SnakeEyes, whose excellent template I used to rework the camo skin I had made before, as well as to make new ones.
Here are a few screenshots, so you can judge the overall detail:
***EDIT may 23, 2010***: Skin pack now comes in a self-extractor archive including these skins:
Last ones are for people who think the Tempest is a little too heavy
Plus, if you want unmarked skins (or don't like shark mouths), I also included the PSD file with all the camo patterns. Feel free to customize these skins as you like!

IMPORTANT: Since I don't want to disrespect others' work, the included PSD file does NOT feature RAF74_SnakeEye's original template, but instead a "demo" version, as many layers have been slightly tweaked to fit the camo pattern, and then merged together.
If you want the original template you can find it here:

If you like them, plz feedback!

Cool skinpack ! thanks DL ing now
Very nice! - Rodeschild - 04.05.2010
Woodland and Flectarn - Very nice camo. Brilliant.
Tiger stripes - Forest camo to me. 8) Depending what map you're on, looks like it would be good in forests.
Desert and Winter - Desert doesn't look right to me, the Marpat one is better. Winter is excellent.
Marpat camo - Oh they are sooooo cool! I would suggest changing the black to a dark green?
Hot Rod and Carbon Fiber - These make great racing skins.
Concrete and Stone - Lol, so funny. Can I suggest putting the effect on the prop?
Overall, magnificent skins! I use them all! Great weathering too.
Thanks for these!

Have you made any historic skins for this bird? As you seem like a great skinner 8)

LOL!
Thx, but I assure you I'm not. In fact, all the rivets and weathering details are part of the template. My part of the job was the easiest.
@ Rodeschild: You're right, "rocky" effect should be extended to the prop. As a matter of fact, best effect would be reached by completely deleting internal/mechanical parts. But, to be honest, I didn't spend too much time on those 2 skins, and didn't think about it. Shame on me! If you like, you only have to look for a "rock texture", adapt it to 1024x1024 8 bit bmp and put it into Tempest folder. It will work fine!

Wow nice skins! downloading now!
Tnx for posting!
*EDIT*
Am i being a download newb, or is there something wrong with the download? the first one gives me a .rar file i cant open :-?
- Serpiko - 23.05.2010
It is supposed to :!:
The .rar archive is a compressed file format (such as .zip). Instead of uploading every single skin with different links, I put them all (plus the template) in a single file which, thanks to compression, is only 50%-60% size than the sum of uncompressed files.
I used WinRar to create the file, but also Winzip should wotk fine to open it. If you don't have it (nor any other compression program) you should have no problem finding and downloading at least a free Winrar (or Winzip) evaluation version, which comes with a very easy installer.
Nevertheless, you're right. It was my fault assuming everybody had one of those programs. I'm going to substitute the pack file with a self-extractor one. You will still download a .rar file, that will be slightly bigger BUT will decompress itself just by double-clicking on it, without the need of dedicated programs. Stay tuned!

No worries, i'm just kinda new to the downloading as a whole, and the ones i downloaded were ready to place in my folders, ill download Winrar like you said, i might need it for future downloads anyways! So you dont have to take effort on this one, its all my fault
