FM Editing, 3D Modelling using these as a base. - Guest - 06.05.2010

I want to know how hard it would be to make the Me 209 Racer based on this Mod.

http://www.allaircraftsimulations.com/f ... hp?t=13155

I probably need opinions from the actual modders themselves. I think I'm getting ahead of my skills here but Such is life...

I want to Make the Flight Characteristics like the Me 209 but no such info exists so I will have to take it from the Me 209 II Fighter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Me_209-II

Info on it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_Me_209
http://www.airracinghistory.freeola.com ... %20209.htm
http://www.xs4all.nl/~tozu/me109/family/me209.htm
http://www.militaryfactory.com/aircraft ... aft_id=763

This is not a request but I would simply like to know how hard it would be for someone with no knowledge of this stuff to learn and do it. Mainly I would just like to change the FM to the Me 209 and pherhaps if I learn 3D moddeling then I could make the proper 3D model but like I said, I just want to make the proper FM for starters.

Chat with me in PM if this sort of discussion is not allowed.
Cheers! Big Grin

It will take a lot of time if you have'nt done anything like this before.

Firstly making/editing an FM you're not gonna be told how to do, unless you randomly figure it out (odds of 1 to a million). Someone will do it for you so that department isn't something you need to think about. What you can do is make the 3D model. After that if you can make nice renders to present your work, then some modder (could be anyone) will probably take you up if they have interest in bringing that model into IL2. Then they will teach you how to go about doing it or the faster way is they may just do it all for you. Also FM work is the last thing that happens in an IL2 aircraft mod production line Wink. If the model importing goes well then someone will also make a new slot for you. Or the guy who took you up may teach you but generally it's a long rocky road if you want to learn. I suggest you build the model first then you'll attract some interests and someone will take you up. Then see where you go from there.

I won't need a new slot made because what I'm modifiying already has 1 Smile And besides it seems MudMarine is already helping me. Lot's of support over at SAS anyway.
